Dear City Council,

I am very concerned with Ordinance 6093. Ordinance No. 6093 is a “SOGI” (Sexual Orientation & Gender Identification) ordinance. SOGI laws are based on sexual and gender theories and ideology, not reason or science.

Gender ideology ignores biological reality to assert that gender is fluid and changeable and that there is an infinite number of genders. Many people of faith and science disagree with this radical ideology.

It is perfectly reasonable to believe what faith and science tell us: Humans are divided into two sexes, male and female, not a multitude of "genders."

The government should not penalize those who believe—based on science, reason, and faith—that marriage is the union of a man and a woman.

It is not bigotry to believe that children need a mother and father. Social research data supports this truth, and individuals should not be punished for saying this.

Please take a moment to watch the video below describing precisely what is being masqueraded as a good thing. This radical ideology is not the norm. Why punish the 99%, impinging upon the public an ideology which entirely trespasses on our values.

Here is a link to a video which I believe would help you understand what is currently happening.

Dear City Council

I’m concerned you are falling rank and file with cities, counties and states around the country who are being urged by homosexual activist groups to pass so-called “Human Rights Ordinances” (also known as non-discrimination ordinances or “competitive workforce acts”). Ordinance No. 6093 is such an ordinance. 6093 is not a Human Rights Ordinance — this is a SOGI (Sexual Orientation & Gender Identity) ordinance. These laws amend existing Civil Rights laws by creating new categories for sexual orientation, gender identity and gender expression (SOGI) and adding them to the existing protected classes of race, color, religion, national origin, or sex. These new SOGI laws are not needed and create major problems in two areas. First, they are used to violate religious liberty and free speech for Christians who are acting out their faith in employment decisions and in small businesses. Second, they create confusion regarding gender separated facilities threatening the privacy, safety and security of women in the use of showers, locker rooms & bathrooms when fully biological men who subjectively “feel” like a woman use women’s facilities arguing they are transgender.

Please VETO this ordinance or make sure it fails.

Thank you,

Dear City Council,

I know you have work sessions for Ordiance No. 6093. As you work, I would implore you to consider rethinking this SOGI (Sexual Orientation & Gender Identification) ordinance. Ordinance 6093 is not an anti-discrimination ordinance it is a law that privileges "sexual orientation" and "gender identity or expression" and threatens safety and privacy.

The "transgender" or "gender identity" umbrella includes a diverse range of people, including men who dress as women as a sexual fetish, out of a sexually-driven compulsion. It is entirely understandable that women would not want such men in their locker rooms, changing rooms and restrooms.

The public accommodations section must be removed. This section includes special protections based on "gender identity" and puts the safety and privacy or our daughters at risk. Women and children, in particular, are placed at risk when a man dressed like a woman can use women’s restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms.

There have been many incidents where men, dressed as women, have attacked women in restrooms. The presence of these men in women’s restrooms is perfectly legal under laws that privilege "gender identity and expression.”

Transgender-identified individuals have said that male body parts are female, "because we believe it to be so." Laws protecting privacy should not be changed because of this faulty thinking.

Please VETO this ordinance or vote no. It will be a tragedy if this passes.

Thanks for reading this. If you would like to talk, please don’t hesitate to call me.

Thanks,

Sample #4

Dear City Council,

I know you have work sessions for Ordinance No. 6093. As you work, I would implore you to consider rethinking this SOGI (Sexual Orientation & Gender Identification) ordinance. Ordinance 6093 is not an anti-discrimination ordinance it is an ordinance threatening religious freedom.

This Ordinance provides special protections based on "sexual orientation," "gender identity or expression" resulting in the harassment and punishment of people with sincerely held religious beliefs.

These Special protections based on sexuality demand that religious business owners choose between their livelihood and their faith. People of faith are marginalized and criminalized by SOGI laws, forced to acquiesce to a secular, hostile ideology. This Ordinance is wrong!

It is perfectly reasonable to believe what faith and science demonstrate: Humans are divided into two sexes, male and female—not a multitude of “genders." It is not "inclusive, tolerant and welcoming" to marginalize and exclude people of faith. SOGI laws treat deeply held beliefs about marriage and sexuality as bigotry and discrimination.

Ordinance No. 6093 is placing place sexual activity above religious faith. Across the nation, charitable institutions have been shut down and religious institutions challenged with lawsuits because of their stance on marriage and sexuality.

Please understand the weight of your actions. Please VETO this bill or remove the public accommodation language.

Thank you,
